ESG

Responsible work, delivered responsibly.

Environmental, social and governance considerations shape how we deliver across all five divisions. We don't claim to be perfect — we work to clear standards, keep the paperwork that evidences them, and stay accountable for every job that carries our name.

Planned works · Invested people · Auditable records

Environmental

Minimising our footprint on site

Planned works create less waste than reactive ones, so we plan. Coordinated programmes, correct materials first time and competent hands on site all reduce rework, wastage and the disruption a job causes to the people using the building.

Across facilities management, utilities, telecoms, construction and fire safety, we handle materials responsibly and keep the documentation that evidences compliant treatment and disposal. Where fire safety work is concerned, delivery is controlled by our sister company Thornton Fire (thorntonfire.com).

Social

Investing in people and places

Our work is delivered by people — trades, engineers, surveyors and support teams — working on sites across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We are building an environment where competent people can do good work safely, and we're always open to hearing from suppliers, specialists and trades who share our standards.

The estates we work on are schools, offices, civic buildings and infrastructure in daily use. We treat them as working environments first: safe, controlled and respectful of the people around the work.

Governance

One accountable partner

Governance at Thornton FM Group starts with a simple principle: one accountable partner. Every supplier and subcontractor works under our direct management, against consistent expectations covering competence, compliance documentation, insurance and conduct on site.

We coordinate programme, access and sign-off, and we keep the records that evidence the work — so our clients' compliance files stay complete and auditable. When something needs to be evidenced, we can evidence it.
